A Self Catering Holiday Cottage | Situated at the base of The Stang Forest, 1000 ft high on Barningham Moor we enjoy panoramic views of Teesdale and The Pennines.

We are close to Barnard Castle and Richmond in north Yorkshire although totally peaceful.

Far East Hope Holiday Cottage was built in 1797 and is a smallholding where we keep mainly horses.  The Holiday Cottage is attached to the main house and before conversion was the tractor shed and upstairs a Methodist meeting room.

The centrally heated accommodation comprises:

Lounge with open coal fire, beams and dining area. There is a T.V. with VCR and DVD and HI-FI.

Kitchen is fully fitted with hob, oven, washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave and fridge.

Upstairs are two bedrooms one double and one twin. There is a shower room with hand basin and toilet. All bed linen and towels are provided.

There is a garden to the front of the property with garden furniture. There is ample parking space for two cars at the rear.  All fuel is included in the price.

We are 10 minutes from the A66 offering easy access to the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and Yorkshire Moors.

The market town of Barnard Castle is 6 miles away with Historic Barnard Castle and the Bowes Museum. To the south is the pretty village of Reeth, Swaledale and Arkengathdale.

We are 1 mile from the main road which is accessed from the A66.  We enjoy a very peaceful environment with an abundance of wildlife.  There are plenty of country walks to be enjoyed outside the cottage door.
